Country Legal & Compliance Officer

Purpose

To provide day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance support locally, mitigating legal risks and ensuring all business activities comply with national laws.

Key responsibilities

• Contract Review: Review and draft routine local contracts, vendor agreements, and employment contracts.
• Licensing & Permits: Track and manage the renewal of all local business licenses, trade permits, and operational certifications.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor changes in local corporate, labor, and trade laws; advise the Country Manager on compliance impacts.

Qualifications

• LL.B. from a recognized local university; licensed to practice
• 3+ years corporate compliance or legal practice in the country

Performance indicators

• Contract review turnaround < 3 days
• 100% license renewals on time
• Zero regulatory penalties
