Independent EAC Expert (Non-Executive Director)

Purpose

To guide the Board on regional integration strategies, leveraging EAC and IGAD protocols to maximize tariff-free trade, cross-border labor mobility, and humanitarian logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Regional Strategy: Advise on market entry, cross-border synergy, and EAC Customs Union optimization.
• Diplomatic Relations: Leverage networks with the EAC Secretariat, IGAD, and national ministries to facilitate Damot's operational expansion.
• Trade Compliance Oversight: Ensure the Group's AEO and Rules of Origin strategies align with evolving regional bloc policies.

Qualifications

• Master's in International Relations, Trade Law, or Economics
• 15+ years in regional diplomacy, EAC Secretariat advisory, or cross-border trade facilitation

Performance indicators

• 80% EAC localization target attainment
• Zero material cross-border regulatory incidents
• Successful penetration of new EAC/IGAD markets as per strategic plan
• Zero cross-border trade blockages due to regulatory misalignment
