Purpose
To facilitate the seamless, legally compliant movement of employees, expatriates, and specialized contractors across EAC/IGAD borders in support of the 80% localization and 10% expat cap mandates.
Key responsibilities
- Immigration & Work Permits: Manage the end-to-end process for visas, work permits, and residence permits for expatriate staff across all hubs.
- Regional Labor Law Compliance: Ensure employment contracts and secondment agreements comply with the labor laws of the host and home countries.
- Relocation Support: Coordinate logistics, tax equalization, and cultural onboarding for relocating employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Law, or International Relations
- 5+ years in global mobility, immigration management, or regional HR operations
Performance indicators
- Work permit processing time within target
- Expat cap compliance ≤ 10% per country
- Work Permit Processing Time: Within statutory limits (zero lapses)
- Expat Cap Compliance: Strictly ≤ 10% per country
- Employee Relocation Satisfaction Score: ≥ 90%
