Chairperson of the Board

Purpose

To lead the Board of Directors, ensuring robust corporate governance, ethical integrity, and the alignment of the Group's strategic objectives with shareholder value and EAC/IGAD regional development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Board Leadership: Chair Board and Annual General Meetings (AGM); set the board agenda and ensure informed decision-making.
• Governance & Strategy: Approve the Group's Strategic Plan, annual budgets, and major M&A or CAPEX investments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between the Board, Group CEO, and key government/institutional stakeholders (e.g., UN, AfDB, World Bank).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business, Law, or Finance
• 15+ years board/C-suite governance experience across infrastructure, trade, or multi-country conglomerates
• Deep understanding of EAC/IGAD macroeconomic and regulatory landscapes
• Strong fiduciary-duty grounding under Ethiopian/EAC company law
